Infrastructure Strategies & Research Inc. focuses on finding innovative, practical and sustainable solutions to today's public infrastructure challenges.
ISR services include:

Public Infrastructure Strategies for municipalities or regional governments, Provinces, Territories, the Federal and First Nations communities are designed to support the community's vision and plans for economic development, competitiveness and prosperity, social and cultural development, and preservation of the environment. They include advice on policies, financing, risk management, and performance measurement.

Infrastructure Sustainability Road Maps (ISRMs) provide public agencies that own and operate infrastructure assets guidance in the development of economically viable, socially acceptable and environmentally sound long term infrastructure plans. The ISRM considers levels of service, funding alternatives, infrastructure assets preservation, renewal and management over their life cycle, risk assessment and mitigation, and pressures such as financing or regulations.

Policy Development Advisory supports agencies in establishing sound policies that take into account challenges at the operational levels to ensure successful implementation. Specific advisory services include policy analysis and impacts, engagement and implementation, science and engineering studies to support policy development, and options analysis.

Best practices audits allow the agency to benchmark its current infrastructure services and assets practices with respect to the state-of-practice. Audits assess the gaps and identify how to improve on its current methodologies or how to implement new practices. I.S.R. inc.  can also help clients in developing performance assessment frameworks using relevant indicators.

Infrastructure Management Planning support is provided to municipalities and other public agencies in their work in establishing infrastructure assets management plans. I.S.R. inc.  will work with staff and decision-makers of the agency to establish goals and objectives, the essential elements of the plan, and the organizational requirements for its development and implementation. I.S.R. inc.  will also provide support on reporting requirements, such as PSAB 3150.

Education and training is essential for municipalities, governments and agencies to building capacity in the delivery of infrastructure services. Our services include the development and delivery of workshops, courses or lectures that address a wide range of topics related to infrastructure services. Audiences can be small (less than 10) or large (more than 50), and the training is tailored to the interests and responsibilities of the participants (from technical staff to decision makers and policy developers).

Research can be used to support policy and decision making or to improve on the agency's practices. The focus on applied research, with implementation of the results as a key objective, ensures the development of relevant and practical solutions to the client's problems. I.S.R. inc. also conducts Innovation Studies that identify barriers to and enablers of innovation.

Facilitation services provided by I.S.R. inc.  help clients in building consensus around issues or gain input on a problem or proposed actions. The audience can be internal to the agency, local or regional stakeholders and public, or national experts or stakeholders. Various facilitation methods are available depending on the client's requirements.

Knowledge Management is essential to maintain the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization and successfully implement succession plans. Working closely with clients, I.S.R. inc. will help develop and support the implantation an organizations knowledge management plan that is consistent with its mandate and objectives, and that can be integrated into the organization's systems and culture.
