BACKGROUND
Guy is a civil engineer with a PhD from Texas A&M University. He has more than 25 years of experience in the field as a   university professor (UCLA), researcher (NRC, Carleton University), consultant and policy advisor (NRC, Infrastructure Canada).

He was the driver that led to the creation of the InfraGuide, a project that between 2001 and 2006 produced more than 55 best practices to help municipalities with the operations, maintenance and management of their infrastructure. The Guide was also a network of more than 300 volunteers nationwide that were actively involved in the production of the best practices.

During his career, Guy has been key in defining a number of National infrastructure initiatives such as the creation of the CERIU (Montreal) and CATT (Waterloo), the Civil Infrastructure Systems Technology Road Map released in 2003, or the creation of the NRCC Centre for Sustainable Infrastructure Research in Regina the same year.

In recent years, he spent close to three years at Infrastructure Canada, working on the definition and delivery of infrastructure programs and on policy/research development as an Advisor to the ADM-Program Operations.

Guy has always been very active in the infrastructure community, participating on professional and technical associations' committees and conferences. He is an educator, teaching Infrastructure Assets Management at Carleton University and the co-author of a youth historical novel entitled The Young Civil Engineer: the Quebec Bridge.
